Lawyers for Climate Justice Australia is a national network of solicitors, barristers, legal academics and law students harnessing the power of law to address the climate crisis. We believe that legal professionals have the responsibility and capacity to drive meaningful change.

Our Three Pillars of Work:

  • We engage in law reform, policy and advocacy to push for stronger laws and regulations at local, state, and national levels that support climate justice.

  • We provide resources and training to empower legal professionals, law students and the general public with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve climate justice.

  • We spotlight how the legal profession can drive positive change and how it sometimes enables climate harm. Law is a powerful yet ambivalent tool, and active engagement by lawyers of all hues is essential.
